TATRA ATLAS with Allison 4500 SP
This year's 9th annual nationwide firefighting meeting in Litoměřice also brought with it an exhibition of historical and contemporary modern technology. The unique ATLAS vehicle from Tatra was also presented to the public in its premiere.
This tank-type, multi-purpose firefighting vehicle (CZVS 40) is a special intervention vehicle that is operated during an intervention exclusively from the driver's cabin, when the crew is protected by an armored cabin or remotely from an operator's station in a safe area, up to a distance of 4 km. Such a fire truck, or other intervention vehicle of a similar purpose, does not exist in Europe.
The vehicle is a project of science and research of the Czech Armed Forces in cooperation with members of military firefighting units.
Operating in extreme conditions places extreme demands on the drivetrain. We are proud that this vehicle is equipped with the Allison 4500 SP fully automatic transmission, which meets these demands.
